    The property opened as an Isle of Capri riverboat and kept the name through two changes of ownership — Isle of Capri sold to Eldorado Resorts in 2017, and Eldorado became Caesars Entertainment in 2020. It is a Caesars property today, on the Caesars Rewards network, and it still carries the Isle brand on the building.

    What sets it apart isn't the gaming floor, which is mid-sized by regional standards. It's the hotel. Five hundred and nine rooms is more than any other hotel in Iowa, casino or otherwise, and in a three-casino market where the other two properties are smaller on the lodging side, that decides where groups, tournaments and weekend traffic end up.

    About 42,000 sq ft with roughly 800 slots and 13 tables, on the shores of Wicks Lake. Opened as Jumer's in December 2008 and rebranded under Bally's Corporation. Crossing the river also crosses a state line, which matters more than it sounds.

    Bettendorf's Mississippi frontage is walkable and genuinely pleasant — a paved path runs along the river with the new I-74 bridge arches overhead. The bridge itself, completed in 2021, replaced a pair of 1930s and 1950s spans and is the visual landmark of the modern Quad Cities.

    Quad City International Airport (MLI) is in Moline, about fifteen minutes across the river. I-74 crosses the Mississippi right at Bettendorf and I-80 runs east–west just north of town, which makes this an easy stop on a longer drive — Chicago is about two and a half hours east, Des Moines about three hours west.
